Welcome to Luther-King Class!
Mr Peacey: Subject Leader for PE & Sport and Y6 Class Teacher
Mr Peacey loves PE and is a fantastic PE and Sport teacher. Luckily, he is also a great Y6 teacher. In addition to teaching and sport, Mr Peacey enjoys taking part in Marathons across the UK, exploring the World and socialising with family and friends. He loves teaching children and wants every child to fulfil their full potential.
Mrs Doig: KS2 Learning Mentor
MrsDoigMrs Doig runs our Y6 Early Birds class in Year 6 and is brilliant at helping our Year 6 pupils to nail those tricky basic skills before they leave us to go to Secondary school. Mrs Doig loves walking, listening to music and going to gigs. Her ambition is to walk the Great Wall of China!

All of our classes are named after people who have shown the 7Rs and worked hard to be the best they can be. Luther-King Class is named after a famous man called Martin Luther-King.

Martin Luther King was an American Baptist minister, activist, humanitarian, and leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience based on his Christian beliefs. He was chosen as the class name for Year 6 because he was an inspirational leader who epitomised our 7Rs - respect, resilience, responsibility, reflectiveness, reasoning, resourcefulness and reciprocity - in all his beliefs and actions.

Luther-King Class is taught by Mr Peacey and is supported by Mrs Doig.

PE PE Days in Luther-King Class   Required clothing: PE Clothing
We have two sessions of PE a week, one tends to be indoors and the other outdoors, though that can depend on the unit of work we are doing.
PE will generally be on a Monday and Friday, so please make sure they have their full PE Kit in school.
For gym / dance / general fitness indoors:
  • House Team T- Shirt
  • Plain shorts
  • Hair tie for long hair
  •   Please note:
  • We encourage the children to keep their PE kits in school in a suitable named bag all week and take them home for washing in Fridays in case we need to change the day we have PE due to inclement weather or in case we have the opportunity to put in an additional session of PE.
  • We try to do outdoor PE in all weathers, so your children are welcome to bring in additional layers to wear during the winter season, should they need to.
  • It is really important that all PE kit is labelled to ensure it does not become lost.
  • Jewellery, including earrings, must not be worn in PE sessions.
  •   For outdoor PE:
  • House Team T- Shirt
  • Plain shorts
  • Suitable sports trainers (plimsolls are not suitable for outdoor P.E)
  • A waterproof coat, suitable for PE outdoors in light rain
