February 2016

As you probably know, the Cambridge Science Festival takes place this year between March 7th and 20th (click here for details). At Wyton on the Hill, we will be having our own Science Festival between March 7th and March 11th.

As part of this, we invite you to take part in the Home Learning Challenge and to prepare a project for our Science Fair, which will take place on Friday 11th March.

First choose your challenge (Challenge 1, 2 or 3).
Next do your research.
Then decide how you will present your learning for our Science Fair.
Finally, bring in your home learning by March 9th ready for our Science Fair on Friday March 11th.
Remember, you can present your learning in any way you like – it’s up to you!

*Challenge 1: Can you find out all you can about a particular plant or animal species or a material, a planet or a physical process?
**Challenge 2: Can you research a scientific concept e.g Why do we need butterflies? and prepare a demonstration about it?
***Challenge 3: Can you develop a science experiment e.g. how can you show that some metals are magnetic? and share your
findings with others?
