Sports Days
The sun shone (very brightly!) for both of this year's Sports Days and this children had a great time competing in their teams against the others. Some individual running, jumping and throwing events were introduced into the KS2 day to give the top athletes a chance to compete against one another. HuntsNet Schools Y6 Sports Festival
We went to St. Peter's to take part in a range of athletics events against four other school. The events included speed bouncing where we had to bounce over sponge bar, the standing long jump and the hurdles. The teams were made up of two representatives from each school and the day finished with a relay race. The winning team received an egg and spoon trophy.

Y5 Maths Challenge

Four of us represented the school in a heat of the Cambridgeshire Y5 Maths Challenge at Papworth School. Of the 9 teams in our heat we managed to finish second and we now go forward to the final in Duxford which has all the heat winners and the best runners up.

The rounds included a memory round which included 2 people who looked at a picture then had to describe it to the other 2 team members. There was an estimation round where we had to approximate the price of some objects, the length of certain items and how many stars there were in a picture. There were also 2 rounds where we had to work together as a team.

It was a great experience and we are now delighted to be going forward to represent Wyton in the final.

The theme and activities were suggested and planned by the pupils themselves and werecoordinated by the School Council with the help of staff. There were also a selection of activities on that day, including Caribbean cookery, crafts, singing and games. In the evening, we held a film night with a choice of films on a Caribbean theme.
