KS2 Production of Hoodwinked
Despite a very busy end of term, the KS2 children once again did the school and themselves proud as they performed Hoodwinked on two evenings to the largest audiences we've had at Wyton. As the nasty Sheriff ruled Nottingham, it was left to Robin and his Merry Men to hatch a plot to save Maid Marian and the villagers. Click here to see more photos.

Sports Days
Both Key Stages enjoyed two very successful sports days with team spirit evident throughout as the children competed in their coloured teams in a variety of events. A terrific downpour brought a premature end to the KS1 afternoon but not before most of the events had been completed. Click here to see more pictures from the two afternoons.

Comic Relief
It was another dressing-up day for everyone in school as we raised money for Comic Relief. Thanks to the work of Mrs. Green and the School Council, several successful events were organised. We dressed back to front which included Holly wearing her socks on the outside of her shoes. Mr. Tuxworth had a peaceful time as many of the children in the Y5/6 class were sponsored to remain silent and the day ended with a book sale with many books in an excellent condition being sold for 20p. There is still some sponsor money to be sent in but so far we have raised a fantastic £391.51.
World Book Day
This day saw children and staff dress up as characters from our favourite books. We took part in book related activities including writing details of our favourites books onto bricks which are going to be used to create a wall in our library. Click here to see more photos of our costumes. Can you guess who we all were?

Laser Quest
Our second Laser Quest evening of the year was again attended by a large number of children who enjoyed running round the hall zapping their friends in the process. Several members of Y6 helped to run the event and £186 was raised towards September's trip to Kingswood.

KS1 Nativity - Christmas with the Aliens
The KS1 children and staff, as always, did the school proud with two excellent performances of the Nativity story told in an original style. In this version, aliens visited the earth and heard the story of Jesus' birth. Despite the illness bug which is sweeping the school taking its toll on the budding actors and actresses, children were happy to step in to others' shoes at a moments notice when actors with key roles were absent and they performed superbly. Well done to all of KS1.

Remembrance Day
We spent the 11th November learning about Remembrance Day. We were joined by members of the local community for a special assembly and a two minute silence in memory of those who have lost their lives in conflicts including and since World War One. Click here to see more photos from the day.

Harvest Festival
Due to the number of apples we
have growing in our school
grounds, this year we decided our
Harvest theme would be apples.
During the week all of the children busily cooked and baked biscuits, cakes and crumbles all containing apples to sell to parents and children.
We also learnt songs and dances along with creating pictures linked
to harvest to show in a special assembly at the end of the
week which was attended by
Father Brian.
We quickly sold everything we made and along with the money brought in by children and staff, we rasied the fabulous total of £198.80 which will all be donated to help the homeless.
This year we decided that we wanted to raise money for people close to home and therefore the money is going to be given to Kings Ripton Court run by the Salvation Army which provides short-term accommodation for single people aged between 16 and 25 in need of housing.
