Y6 Whitby Residential Trip
Whitby 2016 To provide a memorable end to their primary school years, the Y6 children spent 5 days in North Yorkshire on a residential visit. The local beaches were visited several times and trips were made on a steam train and a replica of Captain Cook's Bark Endeavour. Y3/4 Stibbington Residential Trip
Stibbington 2016 29 of the Y3/4 children attended the Stibbington Centre near Peterborough for a three-day residential visit and had a great time as they learnt what they could do to look after the environment, they took part in a treasure hunt and built homes in Sulehay forest for hedgehogs. For some it was the first time away from parents but they all enjoyed a wonderful experience. Find out more by clicking here. Stibbington 2016
Queen's 90th Birthday Party
Queen's 90th Birthday Party The Friends of Wyton and school staff helped the children, their families and friends to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday with a fantastic afternoon of stalls and events. A Cake-off was organised with some very delicious entries on display. Overall around £450 was raised which will be used to help develop part of the school grounds. Cross Country Championships
Cross Country 2016 Twelve of our Y5 and Y6 children travelled to St. Neots for the annual cross country championships which involves most of the Cambridgeshire Schools. Hundreds of children were present and our teams did exceptionally well finishing one of the top small schools. Cross Country 2016

Grand Union Orchestra Concert
Grand Union Orchestra The school was lucky enough to be offered the opportunity of having members of the Grand Union Orchestra visit for a concert which had the children enthralled. We were treated to a variety of instruments, many of which most of us had not seen or heard before and it was a great opportunity to hear some professional musicians performing live. Wyton Marathon 2016
Wyton Marathon 2016 The whole school held its annual Wyton Marathon on a cold and wet day in March this time raising money for Sports Relief. The Reception and KS1 children completed laps of the plaground whilst those in KS2 ran the usual route which took them out of school to Somerset Road park and back in through the side gate. Science Week
Science Week Picture This month the school took part in another Science Week and one of the highlights was a visit by Ed King, a scientist from the British Antarctic Survey in Cambridge as he came to explain about his work in the Antarctic. The children were also set a homework challenge and they produced a wide variety of different experiments and displays for everyone to see. To see pictures from the week and find our more click here. Y3 Visit to Verulamium
Verulamium 2016 As an introduction to our history topic on the Romans, the Year 3 children visited St. Albans, formally known as Verulamium. We had the opportunity to explore the museum learning about life in Roman times as well as having the opportunity to handle many artefacts from the period. To see pictures from the day, click here. Friends of Wyton Christmas Fayre
Christmas Fayre The Friends of Wyton organised a fantastic end to the term with a Christmas Fayre full of activities and goodies to buy. Children were able to buy and decorate baubles, make candy canes and buy many different types of cakes in what proved to be another popular event. A total of £376 was raised which we be used to fund enrichment activities in school. Christmas Fayre
Horrible Histories Does Christmas Theatre Trip
Horrible Histories All of the children from years 2 to 6 and several parents spent an enjoyable afternoon at the Cambridge Corn Exchange watching the Horrible Histories tale of Christmas through the ages. There was plenty of audience participation as we enjoyed an excellent performance and the behaviour of the children throughout was, as always, a credit to the school. Horrible Histories

Cross Country Competition Against Whitehall School
Photo Eight of our children from Wyton took place in the school's first running race of the season as we visited Whitehall in Somersham for a cross country challenge.The children were split into an A and a B team and both were able to emerge victorious in two hard-run races. KS2 Visit to The National Space Centre
Space Centre
The children in KS2 have begun the year embarking on the topic, 'The Final Frontier' and to assist with their learning we all visited the National Space Centre near Leicester. The children had a great time learning about the stars and planets with plenty of hands-on activities. To see pictures from the day and some trainee astronauts, click here.
