Science Fortnight
2018

science week

To celebrate and contribute to science week, at Wyton we decided we had so much to fit in that we made it a Science Fortnight. The children enjoyed exciting visits from STEM ambassadors and participated in a wide variety of interesting and enjoyable activities.

KS1 learnt all about sound and vibrations, making toy telephones and instruments as well as recognising their own voices as sound sources.

Years 3 and 4 learnt all about digestion using a model made out of plastic bags and a pair of tights. They really know what happens when we eat kidney beans and other fibrous material now!

Years 5 and 6 learnt all about DNA and how to extract it from strawberries. They also learnt about the Sun and light being separated into seven colours.

Our visitors were very impressed with pupils’ interest, enthusiasm and quality of questions asked.
