Raising Children

Raising children is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world – but it can also be one of the toughest. Every day our children are bombarded with ideas and influences from a huge range of media as well as from their peers and communities and it has become increasingly difficult for parents to retain a strong influence over their children’s behaviour and attitudes. In short, things have changed a lot since we were growing up! Raising Children is a free 10-week programme for parents and carers of children between 3 and 12 years old, covering a range of parenting topics including:

  • Parenting styles
  • Identifying children’s needs
  • Understanding challenging behaviours
  • Listening skills
  • Effective discipline
  • The effects of positive and negative labelling
  • Encouragement and self-esteem

If you may be interested in this course or would like further details, please ask at the school office and Mrs Best or Mrs Phillips will be in touch.
