The school has chosen to buy into the Local Authority's package of support, which (amongst a variety of other training opportunities and leadership briefings) includes two annual consultation visits from a Local Authority Advisor to ensure that the school is doing all it can to ensure best practice in teaching and learning and best value for money in budgetary terms.
Consultation visits from Local Authority Advisers generally take place in the autumn and spring Terms, with the autumn visit being focused on the school's July performance data and the spring term visit focussing on the quality of teaching and learning in relation to curriculum innovations introduced as part of the school's RAP. Sometimes, the Spring Term visit is planned to coincide with the Governor's school self-evaluation visit so that the Local Authority Advisor can be part of that process.
Following these visits, the local authority advisor prepares a report for the school's Governing Body, which identifies strengths and areas for further development. |
