Wyton Marathon
In May 2010 all of the children and many of the staff accompanied by a few brave parents took part in our biennial Wyton Marathon, this time raising money for play equipment to enhance our school grounds. Fortunately we were blessed with idea running weather as the sun shone but the temperate remainded comfortable.

The KS2 children were set some challenging targets to aim for in their hour's run. Those in Years 3 and 4 were asked to accumulate a total distance of 5 marathons (130 miles) between them and the smaller Y5/6 class were asked to complete a total of 3 marathons (78 miles). After a brilliant effort from everyone both groups beat their targets with the Y3/4 children running an amazing 148 miles and Y5/6 98 miles. Althogether a staggering 9.4 marathons were run by 72 children.

The children in KS1 were just asked to run as far as they could and they certainly tried their best with some children running almost 5 miles in one hour!

All of this effort was to raise money to purchase outdoor play equipment for the school grounds. Click here to see what we are buying and how much money we have raised.
