Ofsted
Our latest Ofsted inspection took place in May 2023 and again the school was rated as 'GOOD'.
The main points were as follows:
Pupils appreciate the support and care they receive from adults, and they feel safe and ready to learn.
Pupils are kind, welcoming to new pupils, and respond well to behaviour reminders from adults.
The school provides a range of facilities and learning opportunities, including before/after-school activities and community events.
The revised curriculum has ambitious goals, but implementation is still in the early stages in some subjects, leaving gaps in pupils' knowledge.
Reading is a priority, but the weakest readers are not always given the right support to catch up quickly.
In early years, children are not always taught the specific subject knowledge needed to be fully prepared for the Year 1 curriculum.
Leaders are mindful of staff well-being and workload, and governors hold leaders accountable.
Safeguarding arrangements are effective, with staff training, systems to manage concerns, and a focus on keeping pupils safe.
